Dragon Boat Festival Holiday Notice

2023-06-21

The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as Duanwu Festival, is celebrated on the 5th day of the 5th month of the lunar calendar. It has a rich history and cultural significance in China. This festival is renowned for its exciting dragon boat races, traditional customs, and delicious sticky rice dumplings called Zongzi.

Holiday is from June 22-24 2023,During this period, the company will be closed in observance of the Dragon Boat Festival, an important traditional holiday in China. All employees are encouraged to take this opportunity to relax, spend quality time with their families, and enjoy the festive spirit of the Dragon Boat Festival.

The festival commemorates the life and death of the ancient poet and statesman, Qu Yuan, who lived during the Warring States period. Qu Yuan was a loyal patriot who drowned himself in the Miluo River to protest against political corruption. The locals, deeply saddened by his death, raced in boats to search for his body and threw Zongzi into the water to prevent fish from eating his remains.

To honor Qu Yuan's memory, people continue the tradition of dragon boat races and Zongzi consumption. Dragon boat races involve teams paddling vigorously to the beat of drums, aiming to reach the finish line first. These races symbolize the spirit of teamwork, perseverance, and unity.

As we celebrate this traditional festival, we hope you take the time to appreciate the values it represents and connect with Chinese culture. Use this holiday as an opportunity to rejuvenate, spend time with loved ones, and embrace the festive atmosphere.
