Origin:

Qingming Festival has a history of more than 2500 years. Tomb-sweeping Day is one of the 24 solar terms around April 5 of the Gregorian calendar. Among the 24 solar terms, only Qingming is both a solar term and a festival.
In 2014, Qingming Festival was included in the fourth batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.

Customs:

1. Sweep tombs and offer sacrifices to ancestors

In Chinese history, it has long been the custom to eat cold food and forbid fire and to offer sacrifices to the ancestors. After the Tang Dynasty, the Cold Food Festival gradually declined, so the Tomb-sweeping day became a continuous festival custom.
